VI. Creating a Backboard
Communicating
your results is a VERY important part of the scientific process. We will do this by creating a “display board”
or backboard that will have all of the above steps visually represented. Below is a diagram of what your backboard
should look like.
A couple of
KEY POINTS:
1)
Your question is you title. It
should be the first thing that people see.
2)
List your variables on your backboard…ALL OF THEM!!!
3)
Decorate your backboard, but do not overdo it,
you don’t want to distract from your project.
4)
The space in front of the backboard can be used to display equipment
that you used. If it is too big, take a
picture and place it on the backboard.

Your backboard MUST
have all the “parts” listed below:
·
Question
·
Hypothesis
·
Materials
·
Procedures
·
Data
·
Conclusion
·
ALL your variables
In addition, you can add the following if you wish:
·
Photographs
·
Drawings
·
Small items that
you used
·
A list and descriptions
of your controled variable |
