How to Make a Kite

Directions

1.  Fold the 8 ˝ X 11 Sheet of paper in half like a hamburger bun (crosswise).      

2.        Hold the paper in front of you with the fold on the left.  From the folded edge, measure 8 cm along the bottom.  Make a small mark with your pencil.

3.  Draw a line from the top left corner of the paper to the mark you made in step 2.       

 

 

 4.  Fold the paper along the line you made in step

 

5.       Unfold the fold you did in step 4, and then fold it back the other way on the opposite side of the paper.

 

6.       Flip the paper over and open the two flaps.  Tape along the back edge of the fold holding the two sections together.

7.       Place the bamboo skewer across the back of the kite, across the tape you putdown in figure 6 from one corner to the next. Tape the bamboo skewer down. 

 

8.       Flip the kite over again and measure 7.5cm from the “top” of the along the keel and place a 4 cm piece of tape over the keel at this point.

9.        Using the hole punch, punch a hole about 1 cm from the keel on the piece of tape you made in step 8.

10.Tape the 6 feet X 1 inch plastic tail to the front of the kite on the bottom.

11.     Tie the kite string to the hole you made in step

12.   Now GO FLY A KITE!!!
