Class
expectations: You will
take responsibility for your own education. This includes periodically checking your grade, check
the assignment wall, and the web site. You are also responsible for making
up any work that you miss due to absences.
In addition, If
at any time you are confused or need help, please ask!!! I can
be available before
school, after school or during lunch, please let me know and I will
make time for you.
Class rule:
I only have 1 rule… Do not cause a problem for yourself or
others!!!

Your Grade will
consist of the following:
Weekly Packets- Assignments
that you will do in class and for homework, due every Friday.
Problem
of the Week (POW)- a weekly (or semi-weekly) check to make sure you
understand the concepts we are learning in class.
Lab Notebook- An organized
group of write-ups that you will complete for labs we do in class.
They will be stamped off in class.
Tests-
At or near the end of a unit and or semester we will have a test.
8th Grade Science Fact Sheet:
You will be given a “fact
sheet”.
This sheet contains 81 facts that you need to know for science
in 8th grade this year. This will be assessed in 2 ways:
Friday Fact
tests
Every Friday
you will be tested on 10 of these facts chosen randomly
(9 from present and past units and 1 from future units.
This test will
not be part of your science grade.
You will chart
your scores thought the year. .
Big Kahuna Fact
Test
At the end of the
quarter you will be given a “Big Kahuna
Fact Test”.
It
is a multiple choice test with questions taken directly from
the fact sheet from the units
we have covered
up to that point
in the year.
The Big Kahuna Fact
Test will be part of your science grade.
